Fri 7th Aug – Online concert with Dean Owens, Oscar Mukherjee and Graham Weber
WHERE TO WATCH
and Twitch – www.twitch.tv/channel7a
Way back a million years ago… well, January 2020… Dean was invited to take part in the very special thing that is The House of Songs in North West Arkansas, USA – an international songwriters residency. Dean and a bunch of specially selected songwriters from USA, Canada and Denmark spent 10 days writing and recording new songs together, in various collaborations, before heading to official THOS showcases at Folk Alliance International (New Orleans), and UK Americana Music Association Awards (London).
One of those participants was a very special young talent from Denmark, Oscar Mukherjee. To mark the release of a new single – Let The Day In – which Dean and Oscar recorded (at The House of Songs, on 20 Jan 2020) – and by the magic of the internet, they are coming together to swap songs (and chat) long distance – Dean in Edinburgh and Oscar in Copenhagen. They will be introduced, and joined, by The House of Songs’ Director of Programming, Graham Weber (a great singer songwriter in his own right), live from Austin, Texas. They are all very excited to be able to come together and perform again, even if only virtually.
Sandy McGhie at Channel 7A will be bringing his technical talents to sort out the split screens and international technicalities. It will be broadcast from the Channel 7a Facebook page. It can also be viewed on any page it’s shared to. If you can, stream it through your TV set, or a quality audio system.
NOTE: We’ll also post the link on Dean’s homepage on the night, here, so you don’t have to be logged in to Facebook to watch it. But you’ll miss out on the live chat if you’re not!
All we ask is that you PAY WHAT YOU CAN* (suggested donation: £10 (or equivalent in your own currency)).
You can pay in advance, or pay on the night. Or after!
1. TYPE the amount you want to pay per ticket in the “Name Your Price” box
2. SELECT the no of tickets you want. CLICK “add to basket”
3. Proceed to Checkout and finish transaction in the usual way
You can also pay via Paypal if that suits you better. Just leave a note about what it’s for.
*NOTE: “Pay What You Can” means exactly that, but please bear in mind that this is the only way the musicians have (for the foreseeable future) of earning money, and bringing their songs to you.
If you can only afford £5 (or even £1), then you are still very welcome to “attend”, but please do what you can to spread the word (And of course if you have a spare couple of grand, that’d be very welcome too!!). Every donation helps.
